What is tallow, and why is it good for my skin?

Tallow is rendered beef fat, rich in skin-loving nutrients like vitamins A, D, E, and K, and essential fatty acids. It mimics our skin’s natural oils, making it deeply hydrating and perfect for all skin types—including sensitive, dry, and mature skin.

Where does your tallow come from?

We source our 100% grass-fed, pasture-raised tallow from local, sustainable farms in Pennsylvania that prioritize regenerative agriculture and ethical animal care.

Do your products contain any synthetic ingredients or preservatives?

No! Our skincare is free from synthetic fillers, preservatives, parabens, phthalates, and artificial fragrances. Just pure, nourishing ingredients straight from nature.

Are your products safe for sensitive skin?

Yes! Tallow is naturally non-irritating, as its fatty acid profile is very similar to our skin's own sebum. If you have extremely sensitive skin, we recommend using our Bare – Unscented option.

Do your products smell like beef?

Nope! Thanks to our multi-step purification process, our tallow is clean and neutral in scent. If you choose one of our scented options, you’ll experience the natural aroma of our carefully selected essential oils and botanicals.

Our Bare – Unscented option may have a very faint natural scent, but it dissipates within minutes after being absorbed into the skin—leaving you with soft, nourished skin and no lingering scent.

USAGE & STORAGE

How do I use Wildborn Tallow Co. products?

A little goes a long way! Warm a small amount between your fingers and apply to damp skin for best absorption. Use it on your face, body, lips, hands—anywhere in need of deep hydration!

How long does your tallow skincare last?

Since we don’t use synthetic preservatives, our products have a shelf life of 6-12 months when stored properly. Keep them in a cool, dry place, and avoid introducing water into the jar.

What if my balm melts or hardens?

Because we use only natural ingredients, texture changes may occur with temperature shifts. If it melts, just place it in a cool spot to solidify. If it hardens, warm a small amount between your fingers before applying.
